Tuesday
That finished and then I had half an hour to get to my first CILTA lesson. It was raining, and I got all wet. I ended up being 10 mins late for the lesson due to leaving the lesson late and secondly to not knowing where the hell I was sposed to go. In the end I found it. There was a really small room full of people. 99% of them were spanish. This I wasn't pleased with as I find spanish people really hard to understand. They speak such a near language to Italian that they don't bother to work on their accent and are lazy with words that are almost the same in both languages. This makes them really hard to understand. I understand them when they talk English though. So she spent a while talking about part of Italy and bits that talk more than one language. Apparntaly one part near the alps also speaks French, another part speaks German too.
First half of the main part of the lesson was being into pairs. We were then given a picture and had to make up a bit of dialogue for the picture. I was with this Spainish guy who was perfectly fine. We didn't really know what to say, but we managed to sort something out. Everyone said theirs at the front of the class to each other. We got corrected on pronouncation and words a few times, which no one else did so I didn't feel we did very well. The second half was grammar. Very basic, just plural forms of the indefinite article and plural of masulin and feminine. This lesson was from half past 11 until 2! Right over lunchtime and I was starving. This didn't help concentration, but I did the best I could. I'm going to go over the grammar again myself before the next one on Friday.
After that lesson I ate lunch there as I didn't want to go out into the rain. Eventually it died down a bit so I went home. It was so wet and my trousers were soaked. I decided to stay home for the rest of the day as I was tired cold and wouldn't be able to concentrate on my lecture later. Too much Italian in one day. Rest of the day was fairly uneventful. Later while I was cooling the Japanese guy Mas was about! Him and Victor had some rose wine. I declined but let them try my ameretto, which I think they both liked.

The Weekend, and Monday
Sunday however was interesting. I woke up at half past 6, which was silly. I woke up too early and I needed to wash my hair and shower anyway. I left the house at half past 7! I had given myself ages as it took so long to get there when I went to get mum but it turned out that I got there really early. Feltrinelli (bookstore, but like WH Smith) was open so I went in and got Italian Cosmo and "umoini degli figligo" otherwise known as children of men. Then I went to the train station and met up with everyone. It was packed! Lydia gave me my ticket (you have to get singles) and we got on the train. Lucie was waited for Julia, they got on the train but couldn't find me. It was pretty packed, set the tone for the whole day really.
We arrived, got together and then went up this platform thing outside the station to look at the city. We took pictures and stuff. Then we went down and over the bridge and the main canal. There were so so many people. People selling fake gucci bags and weird balloon sand things made into shapes. The streets were gorgeous, I took loads of pictures. The people kinda spoilt it though. At one point my plastic bag broke and everything fell on the floor. I had to take up half the alleyway sorting it out!! It did feel properly like a medieval city though. The canals every other street were all gorgeous, and the gondoldas also looked lovely. We followed the same route as the main tri organised by the uni (Lucie and Julia went with that trip) but we went at our own pace and gave the queues for St Marcs a miss. Still looked great from the outside while we ate our lunch. After that we carried on wandering about and taking pictures. We sat at a cafe at one point, and had an ice cream next to the grand canal at another. It was a good day, but spoilt by people really. We left at about half past 5. The journey back was very chilled, mostly everyone was tired and listening to their ipods. I went home and made food and slept.
Monday:
Monday (was yesterday) was another day mostly of lessons. Didn't really have time to sort out doctors. Lessons were tiring as normal. Watched OC in the evening.
not much else to say. will update tomorrow

Friday
The rest of the afetrnoon was spent doing normal things like showering and internet.
I spoke to Lucie and she said she wanted to go to this bar called Transylvania that we'd seen! We both got slightly dressed up to fit in a bit more then met up. It was actually a cool place, alot bigger than I expected. They even do food! Downstairs is like a small gig venue, like for pub style bands. Its all dressed up like a medieval castle (but v fake, obviously) and theres big screens playing cool music. The cocktails arn't cheap but its a fun place. We want to go back on halloween! haha Downstairs they have tables of coffins! With plastic on top and fake skeltons in it!! I took a photo! It was fun.

Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday
I'm doing all of these in one blog as the days were pretty much the same. Dull. They comprised of lectures, tiredness and internet. Wednesday night was cool thou. It was the French week at Hobby One. We got food, not very french he he. There was tomato pasta with parmesan, some weird stuff like looked like beans, toast with spread and salad. Not alot for me to eat due to the cheese, but it was ok. After that there was this "moulin rouge" show, which was basically these girls prancing about in the lingerie they got from the shops! haha It was amusing enough to watch though. There was a guy who also danced. He covered for the girls while they did a small costume change. They danced to Moulin Rouge (voulez-vous coucher avec moi, ce soir? being the only line in french) and some other song that I forget, also in English. It was fairly fun to watch thou, and this time we had a good view. After that it was the normal bad music all in English. It wasn't a bad night though. At the beginning I spoke to all these french speaking Belgians, which was cool. Later on Lydia Hannah and Elosia arrived (just when the Belgians left). Lydia had brought Matt along with her, which was cool. Hes lovely, but alot more rygby type build than I expected for some reason. He'd only arrived a few hours before and was a bit shellshocked really. It was also lovely to see Hannah again. Later there was a big bunch of English as we bumped into Richard (Lydia's friend from Bristol who is here too). I didn't stay really late. Left about 2, and got home at half past.
The morning after was horrible. I got up late, but I had this stinking cold. My throat was sore and my nose was blocked solid but runny. I felt really bad, but I still went to my lecture at 11. I chatted to Nicola for a bit before we realised that it was Thursday and we were in the wrong room. We didn't miss much but I was feeling so crap. I decided to go straight home and miss my lecture later on in the day. I stayed at home and watched alot of the OC. It was great and I got to feel less rank. I went out in the evening despite the cold. Everyone else was going clubbing again! I said that i'd go to the bar and socialise before the club opened. It was good, one of the Belgian girls was there with Lucie, and all the Lydia's flat people were there. I ended up staying quite late, but it was ok. I didn't drink there, just coke.
Update tomorrow hopefully xx

Thursday night and the long weekend
We met up with Julia (Hungarian friend of Lucie's) and Lucie at Bar Lime and got drinks. We ended up staying there for ages rather than just half an hour due to the club not actually opening!! When we got in it was ok, there were these two spanish guys with us that I didn't really know very well. Two guys with cameras came around and took pictures. One of them of me and Lucie is actually nice! Music was crap as ever. I went home earlyish as mum was arriving tomorrow.
Friday:
I had a good mini lie in. Got up and sorted slowly and stayed online (doing my blog). She then called me and I set off. It took me alot longer than I had anticipated and I got confused at one point. Eventually though we found each other and it was great! We went to the hotel, dumped stuff then went to visit my flat. She liked it, but it didn't take long to show her around lol. We then went for lunch at this cafe along my road and discussed things and took pictures. We saw some graduates with their laurel wreaths! After that mum went to have a mini siesta as she had got up early to get here. I stayed at the flat and didn't do much. We spent the afternoon on a mini tour planned by me. We started at Piazza Maggorie, then went to Piazza St Giovanni in Monte (where my lectures are, and there were more graduates), then to the due torri (where we stopped for an ice cream) and down Via Zamboni. Once we had done that we started off towards the restaurant that I wanted to take mum to. We did get slightly confused at where it was, but once we got maps out we realised how near I was. We got a table and were sent downstairs. The last time that I had eaten at this place I had a delicious soup, so I knew this would be good. We shared a salad, which was nice, and then got tagliatelli al ragu (otherwise known as spagetti bolognese). It was amazingly delicious! We did however have quite a depressing conversation about the credit crunch and how it was going to mean a global depression 1930s style. That scared me a bit. Also I got news from home. When we left the restaurant and went upstairs to pay the bill we bumped into Lydia, Christina and Eloisa! They were getting cake lol. After that we went home/hotel to bed.
Saturday:
I actually slept over a bit on Saturday! I met mum outside the town hall and we went to the Morandi exhibition. Mum got annoyed that I kept yawning, but I was just tired. I'm pretty sure after that we went to get a drink in a cafe on Via Clavature. This was basically to kill time before lunch and to be honest I can't remember if that was saturday or sunday! I had this basically pure lemon lemonade that even like 4 packets of sugar didn't fix!! ha ha but anyway after that we went to Bar Lime and got a panini each and a drink. It was nice to chill. After that we went to the Interntational book store and I got a map of Bologna but also the surrounding area. We spent the rest of the day going around places. We went to the Basillica di San Petriono, which was cool, then to the medieval museum. Mum insisted on going down back streets. We also had a look around lots of areas and found a random canal running through. We then went back to my flat, spoke to Iz and Dad on Skype and then got a text from Lydia about meeting up for dinner. This restaurant was nice and it was only Lydia who was there when we arrived. I had Tortellini al brodo (pasta filled with meat, in broth). Lydia had bigger Tortellini with cheese in and with ragu. Mum had some cheese and grilled veg. My food was nice, but the broth was really watery. We had a selection of meats as a starter. Again we went home after dinner.
Sunday:
We met up later today than we had the day before. I still got out of Sunday morning cleaning though haha! We met up and had another drink and lunch at the same cafe as the first day. It was nice. Then we went to San Luca. This involves a nice colonaded walk for half the way then a ugly straight uphill struggle for the rest of it. The chapels along the way are all recent compared to the walkway and are mostly dull. It was tough. The views at the top are good, but not as good as in Tuscany and there are many trees in the way. We had a nice picnic that we got from the deli the day before. Mum tried to take photos of me but they all looked bad. The church on the inside was waaay OTT, in a strange way. Me and mum spoke about why there arn't really equivilents to this in England and about the reformation and all that. Then we walked back down all the way again, past lots of groups of people praying. We decided that the most sensible thing to do would be to get the bus up and then walk down hehe. That evening we went out for Pizza. The place I had been was really nice, and we had good food. I had a ham and egg Pizza and mum had one with lots of veg on. It was a nice meal but I was quite sad that she was going. We talked about alot of emotional things. When we got back to the hotel I said goodbye. I felt really sad and cried a bit on the way home. I stayed a short time online then went to bed.
Monday:
Not much happened on Monday. First thing I did when I woke up was call mum to make sure she got on the bus to the airport all ok. Then I had a shower and dragged myself to my lecture. 9am lectures on a Monday are always as hard as they sound. At 11 I went to see Lucie, but she was slightly late so I got a coke (caffine is goood) and read the newspaper to see how much I could understand. Lucie arrived and we chatted for an hour or so but then she left. I went back, got some lunch and went online. By that time it was time for my other lectures. They were dull and hard work too. Nothing much else happened the rest of the day, normal eating, online kinda stuff.
thats a long blog!! will keep you updated xxx

Thursday
It was this massive lecture hall, with a small stage and people milling about. I saw a few of my coursemates so sat with them. It turned out to be really dull. Nothing interesting at all so me and Stephen (american guy) left early and I waited for my lecture.
The lecture was cool. We watched a documentary/drama thing on hominins. It was really funny though as it was not really that much of an archaeology serious type programme and was aimed at entertaining people with a small bit of science. During it I was translating words with my Italian friend, and how I have a larger vocab. I even know what knapping in italian is! It was fun.
After my lecture I went to Lydias and we ate stuff. I had pasta, with bits of paella and various stuff. There was also burnt cake which was more like brownie as it hadn't risen! ha
humm mums arriving soon, will finish later xx

Wednesday
Yesterday morning was dull, I never do any work in the morning. I spent time online chatting to people when I should have been going to co op really. oh well.
Went to my lecture early and got lunch on the way. That morning I had been in touch with this Phd student who my lecturer said was in Bologna too. Turns out he was going to the same lecture as me. It was cool to chat. Him, me and this Dutch guy went for a quick coffee after. After that we split up and I went to the library. I was supposed to be copying up this Italian girl's notes but I found it too dificult and so went through some grammar and vocab instead. Second lecture wasn't our normal lecturer (I think hes in Budapest for some random reason). Instead it was this really pretty woman who spoke faster than most people drive. I didn't get hardly any of it. It was really short though and I got home early. After that I spent alot of time deciding whether or not I was going to go out. Eventually I decided that I would, the rest is below.
I may do a blog on The Glass Passenger, for all the jm.org people who've seen my blog before

The weirdest thing just happened
I went out tonight and we started talking to this Italian guy. He said he knew another English girl who was here tonight and that she was from Birmingham. She was there later but it turns out that shes not from Birmingham but went to Leicester and was in the same halls as me! I didn't recognise her but she said she was in black block. Black block was the block where my friend Andy lived. I found out he was dead a while ago, there was a funeral and everything. He was one of my friends, although not a really close one it still affected me. I spoke to him alot online and I knew he didn't have the most mentally healthy ways of thinking so I was sure it was suicide. This was compounded by the fact that I knew he had tried before and that no one would tell me what happened. I cried the night I found out, and sporadically the next 2 days. This was during revision time and I found it difficult. I've thought about him occasionally during the time between then and now. The most recent being when my ipod played me alive by pearl jam (one of his favourite bands that I put on my ipod to remember him by).
Oh dear this isn't being very clear is it, sorry.
So I said that she must have known him and she said that yes she was one of his good friends. She told me what had really happened, even though she was tearing up. Basically him and his friends had a house party before exams to let their hair down before revising and exams. He got really drunk like most students do, and fell alseep on his back. This lead to him chocking on his own vomit. Really not the most pleasant way to go. His housemates found him in the morning.
I was saddened by this, but also pleased that it wasn't what I had originally thought. I'm glad that he was happy, and not in a self destructive hating mood that I had heard him in before. Despite this i'm still feeling very weird about it all. Its made even more bizzare by having found out in a nightclub in Bologna!! talk about the last place you expect to find out, and I had kind of given up on the idea that I was ever going to find out. I just needed somewhere to talk about it.
I hope sleep will help. I have a lecture at 11 tomorrow
Wednesdays day blog will be up tomorrow xx

Tuesday
Last night was really fun. We all met up at bar Lime, had drinks then moved on to Corto Maltease. 2 for 1 cocktails were taken advantage of and it was a fun night. There was a point where this really sleazy ugly horrid guy was all over our group. Personally I wanted to slap him but everyone else thought I was over reacting, so I didn't. I still wish I had, I hate attention like that.
Today I got up late and was really dehydrated. I got water and sorted myself out. I spent today mostly online looking at various websites to help with learning Italian. Some of them are really good and definitely worth working though. Also newspapers in Italian are all over the internet, just like English ones. Makes me wonder why people bother paying! The language in Italian broardsheets is a bit advanced for me at the mo, am sticking to the free "metro" style ones.
I got an e-mail from my lecturer with this really cool list of archaeological Italian words. Could have done with that before I arrived haha although I may well have ignored it if I had.
My lecture was ok, and I chatted to Stephen the American about various stuff on the way home. I had food with the Brazillians as they had cooked way too much. It was just pasta with tomatoey oniony stuff but it tasted great. Not done much else and am going to go to bed early xx

Monday
This morning my lecture was long and hard. I managed to concentrate right up until the end though. I understood alot of it, which is good as for the last two weeks the weekend has caused my understanding to plumet come Monday. After that I was going to meet with Lucie but I got a text to meet later so instead I went to buy some stuff that I needed. I went to the international bookstore and got this (what seems like) a really good grammar book for Italian. Its kinda step by step, starting from the basics. It looks really good, and is better than me learning grammar at my own steam. It has a test at the back to make sure you understand, which is great. After that I went to this cheap cleaning/toiletries ect shop and got razors and conditioner. At that point I had to meet Lucie so I went back. I've been looking for blu tack here but its really hard to find. At random I saw it in this newsagent so I got it. It was €4 which is quite alot! and I only had just under 4 but it was ok he let me have it anyway. Its for my Italy map and my historical Britain map that I have no idea where to put.
Lucie had to pay for my lunch as I had spent all my money! I felt bad but i'm either going to repay her v soon or buy a cocktail for her hehe. She says bringe drinking happens alot in Northen France. She had pizza and chips and coke for lunch, I had a procuttio panini. We had fun sharing music while we ate. Shes so funny and lovely.
Not much else to share after that. 4 hours of really brain numbing lectures. After the last one I got all his powerpoints put on my external hard drive, which was nice of him. He also offered me to do the exam in English, but I said I will try in Italian.
Am off out now xx

Saturday and some Sunday
I met Lydia and her dad for drinks at half 7 in the evening. He is lovely, paid for my coke and they had processo. Then they left and I met Lucie. We wandered around this church for a while not knowing where we were going then we phoned up and found the place. Ironically it was where I pointed out to Lucie but she didn't think it was near enough the church ha ha.
So we met with the people we were going to the place with. I went with Lucie in the car. It was dark by this time and it took us ages to find the place as we got lost along the way! Me and Lucie talked about languages, and about using the tu form and the vous form in French. When we arrived at this town we got out and walked through the centre of the town to this big building that looked like a depot or a big supermarket. It had a marquee coming out of it so we entered there. The fair had finished but they were still making food at this big restaurant with truffles on almost every dish. I explained to the waiter about food and he asked the chefs for me. He came back and said that the only thing without milk in was risotto al tartafou. I had that but I really didn't like it, it made me feel quesy. Lucie had ravioli al ragu, which is ravioli with bolognase sauce but I couldn't have it as the ravioli were stuffed with cheese. This was really late, at about half 10 by the time we were eating. We didn't really talk that much to the Italian girls who were near us. After this I went home in a differnt car to Lucie as these were going to cental Bologna near me, and hers was going to further out where she lives. It workrd out ok as they went past my road so I asked to be dropped off there and it was a v short walk.
When i got back at like half 12 I had to hang out in my room all the wet washing from the washing machine that I had put on earlier that evening. In the car on the way home I had my first thought in French. It was "je dois faire quelque chose avec mes vetements" which means I must do something with my clothes. Then I went to bed.
Today I have really done very little. Me and the Japanese guy Mas cleaned the kitchen while the others did the other rooms. I downloaded a new album and listened to it twice. It was great. In the morning I hung up my clothes to dry and they're all nice and ready to wear now. Thats all really

Friday
In the morning I had a long lie in, and it was goooooooooood! I stayed in bed until about 11, then i got up, showered then had lunch. It was a big mass of star pasta with tomato sauce on it and two fried eggs, tasted great.
After lunch I just kinda went online for a while and got v bored. Lucie invited me out for aperertifs (damn can't spell) but i forgot until the time that I was sposed to be meeting her so I text her and said I would be there soon. They were in the English pub, we had a cocktail and food. It was good. Lucie was mainly talking in Italian to this Hungarian girl. I understood most of it, but couldn't add much to the conversation myself so I felt a bit left out. It was ok thou, as working hard on understanding Italian is always good. At the end though my energy and concentration went out of the window and I gave up. Luckly we didn't stay there that much longer. I got home about half 11 and slept.
Update soon x

Argh I never blog enough. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday
I got up early (early lecture) and toddled off to my lecture. At the end of my lecture this Italian girl started talking to me and said I could borrow her notes. I thanked her, but after that this guy who was there started talking to me. Hes an American, from Brown University (they have a special Brown office here for American students) called Stephen. He said that he could photocopy the notes for free, so I lent him the notebook and arranged to meet him the next day so that I could give these back to the Italian girl.
I think this was also the day when, in the morning lecture, one of the italian students started talking to me and my Aussie friend Nicola. I didn't understand what he was saying. It turns out that these two Italians are doing a specialist degree in medieval history. They're finding the course waaay to easy and want to speed up as they have some kind of project to do soon. They were sweet thou. I can't remember what I did between lectures and in the evening, oh dear.
Wednesday:
OK, yesterday I still got up fairly early as I had to get my documents from the international office. That turned out to be fairly easy, then I met Lucie as we were going to get ESN cards (this being the only day of the week that the office is open *rolls eyes*). We had to wait for this Hungarian girl that Lucie had met and we all went together. Cards were fairly simple, just pay and give infomation. After that they both went to see their tutor so I had lunch at this really nice bar/cafe place called Bar Lime. We go there all the time. In the day its like a cafe, at night it does cocktails and stuff. So I had lunch there on my own and read this newspaper someone had left. It was interesting, but difficult language. I think I should start with the free tabloid type ones they give out all the time here. Then I had my lectures, met Stephen again and gave back the notebook. When the first lesson finished I went to the university computer site, which was interesting. I didn't do much thou, and I still can't figure out how to print stuff, but its ok. Went back for my next lecture and at the end still chatted to Steven. I'd been invited out by Lucie but declined due to tiredness, and was planning to go to dinner with Hannah, Chistina and Lydia. They hadn't text me times or places so I stayed chatting to Stephen and he met with this other American girl. They invited me for drinks until I knew what I was doing, but I realised I didn't have any money and would have to go home. So I rushed off home and got back to meet the girls for dinner quite late, but they arived at the same time. We went to this pub type restaurant place and ate outside by candlelight, it was good. I had this awesome chickpea and potato soup. Everyone else had tagliatelli al ragu, which is spag bol. They had wine and small desserts after. Before that we also had bruchetta, with raw tomatoes on. Lydias one had olives and cheese on. Bed came soon after
Thursday:
Today I got up and went to my lecture, but it didn't happen. Very confused. I went and got socks, as I hadn't done washing and therefore had ran out ha ha. Then I went back to my flat, went online for ages, then had a rest for a while. Oh, include lunch in that as well. I got up from my rest and went to my lecture, ate dinner and I'm now off to go clubbing, as when I gave my excuses yesterday I had to agree to be out today. Just as well I don't have any lectures tomorrow and can sleep. Its a bit said that Lydia will be away in Milan and Hannah in Edinbrugh this weekend, as there are less people to see. Sure I will find something to do thou. Will update soon xxx

Monday
Weekend
Saturday I really did almost nothing until about half 5!! at that point I met up with Lydia and we went shopping for some knickers as she needed more and her washing machine wasn't working. It was a fairly sedate trip. After that we met up with Hannah and her Edinbrugh friend Lachie (pronounced lock-e) and we went for somewhere to eat. It was the festival day for Bologna's patron saint and so there was a classical music performance and other stuff going on in the main square. The music was fairly dull so we went to eat. I had a huge cheap pizza and it was great. Lydia had a seafood pasta dish, i hate seafood. After that we ran to catch the fireworks, which were the grand finale of all the events of the day but we just missed them. When there I met up with Lucie. I don't remember if we all went for a drink or not. hummm
Sunday again was another lie in! That day I got the bus to Hannah's but before that I needed to kill time so I went shopping. I felt very uninspired by everything and didn't buy anything. Alot of shops were shut anyway, it being Sunday. Then Hannah rang and said everyone had finished eating (Lydia had been invited over to Franceso's house for a meal with his family) so I waited for the bus. It took AGES! Eventually I got there and all was good. Francesco was there with his brother (along with the two girls) but he had to go v soon after. Lydia, Hannah, me and Francesco's brother Julio went to this park and had a chat about stuff. Mostly music as Julio plays drums and Hannah bass guitar. After that us girls went back to Hannah's and chatted about nothing much really. Me and Lydia took the bus back home and when we got to the city centre we both were going to get off and she got off then the doors closed and I got taken to the next stop!! luckily it wasn't too far away and I just went home. I remember having dinner here in the flat, as we had arranged before to have sushi in a restaurant near Hannah's but it was shut. I can't remember if we went out or not as we seem to have gone out everyday and they all kinda merge into one! It impedes my sleep, precious precious sleep.
right, thats all for this weekend. Now for Monday (yesterday)
Saturday, 4 October 2008
Friday
I got up and went to the uni, as I needed to get my certificate of arrival signed and stamped here. After that we'd arranged yesterday to meet at the market at 12, so I wandered around and us 5 (yes, its now 5. we've expanded) all met up and went round the market. People didn't really buy anything, other that I got a pair of socks for a euro. That didn't take very long so then we went to this really swanky place that had really nice food for lunch. Most people had a pasta/salmon dish, Hannah had a wrap with ham and I had hot cooked peppers with sausage bits. It tasted really good, but was expensive.
After that everyone else went home but I went shopping in Co op for some food seeing as the cupboard here is bare. I got wraps, crisps, passata sause, orange juice, cereal, olive oil, ameretto, lettace, smoked salmon and stuff. Walking home was hot and sweaty, urgh. Worth it for the food thou. Then I chilled online for a while. At this point I was really hungry and I wasn't going to be eating until 8.30 so I had a wrap and some crisps.
At 8 we were going to go around to Hannah's for dinner so I met up with Lucie and we got the bus. It took a while to arrive though. When we got to where we thought Hannahs was we couldn't find it so we phoned. It took us over half an hour to finally sort out where she was, with much wandering along roads and panicy phone calls. We arrived a bit later than 9 I think. She'd made really nice food. We had cous cous with grilled aubergine and squash with a chicken breast. It was really good. Then for dessert we had sugary coconut buiscut/cake thing with magno (i think it was) on top. they had lashings of cream with it too. That was also really good. Hannahs flatmates and two friends were also there and they were chatting away. They asked me what I studied and all approved when I said archaeology. We also had a quick convo about my trowel (Hannah wanted to know what it was in Italian). Later on there was some food left and it was offered around and I was the only non Italian who had more and I got loud cheers of brava! for the Italians lol. I think they thought it was a bit weird that I wasn't drinking wine, but they didn't say anything. After we'd eaten the Italians went off to get ready for the night out and us lot stayed and chatted. During this time there were many loud girly shrieks from the other rooms, v funny. Not much happened after that, we got the bus and I went home.
Today, i've not done anything. Had cereal and thats about it he he. Its the festival of San Petrino today (i think hes Bologna's patron saint) so its a big festival and theres concerts and stuff going on in Piazza Maggorie this evening. We're going, and will blog about it later

Wednesday, Thursday and Today
Right.. Wednesday. I got up really early cuz my timetable said I had a lecture but as I was waiting outside I double checked the times on a different sheet and realised it said tuesday morning not wednesday morning hence i'd missed it the morning before. Blame Hannah for telling me wrong (she told me the info and I wrote it down).
So I went home for a bit and felt a bit bored so I text this french girl that I'd met on Monday during the long registration to see if she wanted to meet up for lunch. So we did, and spent an hour and a half mainly talking French, which was cool. She left at half 2 so I chilled and went down to the faculty. There I bumped into Hannah and she was going to go to get a bike so we went to this second hand market random curiosity shop and got her this really cool red retro bike. It was a bit old and there were a few problems but she took it to a repair shop and its as good as new now. I don't remember what we did in the eveing, but we probably did something cuz we've been out alot. Not always late, but still out.
Yesterday I got up and went to my lecture. I had a bit of a nightmare trying to find the room, but I was helped by my Aussie friend. She was also completely lost like me. In the end we found this guy who said we couldn't take our bags down there and gave us keys for a locker. We were really confused because we were sure that it was just a normal computer room and that we wern't using computers alone. He was right though and we put our bags in the locker and went down into the basement, which was kinda cool. There was a table and people around it. Baring in mind it had taken us 15 minutes into the lecture time she had only just arrived herself so we didn't miss anything. It was about lots of things, including the chesia di San Stefano, which is just over the road from the building we were in. That was kinda cool. She also showed us slides of really cool Lombard stuff, and it all looked (well, the brooches and rings which is mostly what she was showing us) fairly similar to vikings. It was cool. After the lecture I had lunch with the Aussie girl, we chatted about travelling, her visas ect and it was all good.
Later, at 8 we had all arranged to meet to watch an Italian film at the cinema. We saw this film that was called the semen of discontent, which is funny. It wasn't at all a porn film though. It was about this woman who wants a baby but doesn't get on with her husband really and she thinks hes infertile so she checks out artifical insemination clinics. Then she gets attacked and raped and she goes around trying to find out who it was while this policeman guy stares at her and says he'll help her. Then she finds out shes pregnant and her husband gets a call saying hes infertile from tests he did so he gets really angry at her and leaves her. Eventually she finds out that the police guy raped her after she got attacked and she gets annoyed at him and after a while gets back with her husband. It was difficult to understand though.
After that we went to this really nice bar that we go to quite alot called bar lime. I'd been collected 2 for 1 drinks tokens and we had some nice cocktails. Hannah was really tired and went early but me, Lydia, my French friend Lucie and Lydias flatmate Christina who is scottish. We then went to this club near the bar and tried to talk to some guys but they kinds rejected us. We danced a bit then went home.
Damn, gotta go. will update about today tomorrow xx
